NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte has said that the military bloc’s defense spending reaching the target set for 2025 is thanks to U.S. President Donald Trump, APA reports.
“I know that many of you criticize Trump. But do you really believe that without Trump, eight of Europe’s major economies — including Spain, Italy, Belgium, and Canada — would have been able to reach the 2% defense spending target set for 2025? At the beginning of the year, this figure was just 1.5%. Without Trump, this would never have happened. Now all of them have reached 2%,” Rutte said at the World Economic Forum in Davos.
