Russia was offered to hold a leaders' summit that, in addition to Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy and Russian leader Vladimir Putin, would include the Presidents of Türkiye and the United States - Recep Tayyip Erdoğan and Donald Trump, APA reports quoting RBC Ukraine.
According to Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine Rustem Umerov, the proposed meeting is to take place by the end of August. The leaders of Ukraine, Russia, the US, and Türkiye would participate.
Ukraine's Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Heorhii Tykhyi, commenting on the proposal to Russia, stated that it is a standing offer and could be implemented at any time. For example, if Putin wants to meet tomorrow, Zelenskyy will be ready to hold such a meeting with him.
"Why do we emphasize the meeting - in Russia, there is only one person who makes the decisions. If important decisions need to be made, such as a ceasefire - that person must be present," Tykhyi explained.
