The rally is being held on Rustaveli Avenue in central Tbilisi, APA's local bureau reports.
The rally was organized by opposition parties that boycotted the local elections.
Participants from some regions also joined the rally. There are also those who joined the action by marching from several parts of Tbilisi. Traffic on Rustaveli Avenue has been restricted.
The main stage of the rally is set up in Freedom Square, in front of the Tbilisi City Council building.
One of the organizers, the leader of the "Rustaveli Avenue" movement, Paata Burchuladze, said that a resolution will be adopted at the rally and from that moment on, power will be in the hands of the people.
Security measures have been strengthened in the area. Additional police forces have been deployed to protect public safety.
The rally is continuing peacefully for now.
It should be noted that the Georgian Ministry of Internal Affairs has called on the organizers and participants to hold the rally within the framework established by law.
It was stated that any violation of the law will be met with an appropriate legal response.
