# 03 July 2025 17:21 (UTC +04:00)

The OSCE Parliamentary Assembly has adopted a resolution on the socio-political situation in Georgia, APA's Tbilisi correspondent reports.

The resolution calls for the release of political prisoners, calls for dialogue, and demands the protection of the press, freedom of assembly, and other rights and freedoms.

“We welcome the activation of the OSCE Vienna Mechanism following the mass protests in Georgia after the October 26, 2024, parliamentary elections, which, according to the final report of the ODIHR election observation mission, were marked by several irregularities. The report recognizes the importance of this mechanism in addressing concerns related to human rights, democratic processes, and the rule of law. We call for continued dialogue and cooperation to ensure the protection of fundamental freedoms—primarily through the immediate release of all political prisoners and the conduct of new, free, and fair elections that truly reflect the will of the Georgian people,” the OSCE Parliamentary Assembly's 2025 report states.
