Unfortunately, there is no basis yet for the resumption of political dialogue with Georgia, said the official representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry (MFA), Maria Zakharova, at a briefing, APA's local bureau reports.
According to her, Russia is interested in Georgia being sovereign and independent so that it does not become a tool and toy in the hands of others.
"Despite the unreasonable pressure from the West, the Georgian authorities declare their readiness to defend their national interests, and also do not want to sever mutual relations with Russia," Zakharova added.
