The "coalition of the willing" to assist Kyiv assumes that the Ukrainian Armed Forces should number 800,000 troops after the conflict ends, French President Emmanuel Macron stated at a press conference at the Elysée Palace, APA reports.
"When planning the training and support of the Ukrainian professional army, we proceed from the assumption that it should number 800,000 people in order to be able to deter any new aggression," Macron said.
According to him, at the current meeting in Paris, which was the 15th since the creation of the so-called coalition of the willing, an agreement was also reached to establish a coordination group, which would include the United States, representatives of the "coalition" countries, and Ukraine. "This structure will provide support in coordination with the "coalition" headquarters, which is located in Paris," the French leader noted.
Macron asserted that the meeting participants "strengthened the architecture, planning, means, and rules of security guarantees for Ukraine." "And I would say, security guarantees both for Ukraine and for the entire European continent," Macron said.
