Georgia will complete the first phase of construction of the deep-water Anaklia port on the Black Sea coast by 2029, Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze said while presenting his annual report to parliament, APA’s Tbilisi correspondent reports.
He noted that dredging works and the construction of breakwaters have already begun in Anaklia. Kobakhidze said $600 million will be invested in the implementation of the first phase of the project. Once completed, the port will have the capacity to handle 600,000 containers annually.
