Georgia has not been invited to join the US President Donald Trump's Gaza Board of Peace, APA's local bureau reports.

First Deputy Speaker of the Georgian Parliament, Gia Volski, explained the lack of an invitation by saying that there is no necessity for Georgia’s participation in the Board.

According to him, countries experiencing serious war-related processes were invited to the Board of Peace.

"Georgia has taken the right position with its small resources that cannot affect the situation in the world. Conflicts around Georgia are not expected to develop in the future. We will see how the processes will develop. If an invitation is not received today, an invitation may be received tomorrow or the next day," the vice-speaker added.

Georgian experts, in turn, believe that Trump does not consider Georgia's participation in the Board of Peace necessary. In their opinion, Georgia is not of great value to the US leader, and he has focused his attention on other regions.

Note that Azerbaijan and Armenia have received invitations to join the Board of Peace. Both countries accepted the invitation.

Recall that tensions have been prevailing in Georgia-US relations since the end of 2024. On November 30 of that year, Washington suspended the strategic partnership with Tbilisi, which was established in 2009. Although the Georgian government has repeatedly declared its readiness to restore the strategic partnership with the US from a clean slate, Washington has not yet announced its official position on relations with Tbilisi.
