The Georgian government's lawsuit against the BBC is ready and will be submitted to the channel's internal regulatory body in the coming days, said Speaker of the Georgian Parliament, Shalva Papuashvili, APA's local bureau reports.
According to him, the Georgian side hopes that the channel will admit that the plot is fabricated and manipulative at that level.
"If this does not happen, we will appeal to other instances. At this stage, we will not talk in advance about the content of the complaint," Papuashvili added.
The speaker noted that the next instance where the complaint will be submitted may be the UK Regulatory Commission, as well as the European Court of Human Rights: "We will go through all these procedures in the necessary sequence."
Recall that the BBC's plot broadcast in December last year claimed that toxic chemicals from the First World War were used to disperse protests held in Tbilisi in 2024. The State Security Service of Georgia immediately launched an investigation into the material and proved that no prohibited substances were used during the riots that occurred during the period in question.
