We must force Russia to end this war, said Finnish President Alexander Stubb during a panel discussion at the World Economic Forum in Davos, APA reports.
Stubb rejected claims that Russia is winning. The Finnish President emphasized that the advance of Russian troops is very slow and comes at the cost of heavy losses.
“In December, 34,000 Russian soldiers were killed, after which they claimed that Kupiansk had been taken, although this did not happen,” he said.
According to Stubb, Moscow does not want to stop the war because for Russia it would be “extremely expensive to pay all Russian soldiers.” However, in his view, it is possible to force Russia to make peace.
“We must force them to end this war. There are two things we can do here: first, give Ukraine everything we can; second, exert economic pressure on Russia and ultimately ensure that Ukraine wins this war,” Alexander Stubb added.
