Head of the Main Intelligence Directorate (GUR) of Ukraine’s Ministry of Defense, Kyrylo Budanov, has stated that the Russian side is violating previously agreed mechanisms on the exchange of prisoners and bodies, attempting to unilaterally dictate the terms of the process through information manipulation, he wrote on Telegram, APA reports.

“We are strictly adhering to the agreements reached in Istanbul. No one can unilaterally decide when, how, or whom to exchange. The preparation process is ongoing, and pressure or manipulation in this area is unacceptable,” Budanov emphasized.

He also emphasized that certain Russian propagandists are speculating on human tragedies, even though it is Russia itself that bears primary responsibility for those tragedies.

Kyrylo Budanov added that the Coordination Headquarters is continuing its work on organizing the exchange of prisoners in accordance with the mechanism agreed upon during the negotiations with Russia in Istanbul.

It should be noted that during the talks held in Istanbul on June 2, delegations from Russia and Ukraine exchanged documents related to resolving the conflict and reached an agreement on the release of prisoners of war.
