Britain evacuates troops from Qatar airbase amid escalation in region

Britain is evacuating some of its troops from Al Udeid Air Base in Qatar amid the escalation in the Middle East, APA reports citing newspaper i.

Royal Air Force personnel are stationed at Al Udeid Air Base alongside US forces. Reuters previously reported that Washington recommended that some personnel evacuate Al Udeid Air Base, which Iran attacked in June 2025 in retaliation for Israeli and US strikes.

Sky News also confirmed the evacuation of British troops . However, the UK Ministry of Defence declined to comment on the media reports. "We do not comment on basing and deployment details for operational security reasons. The UK always takes precautions to ensure the safety and security of our personnel, including evacuating personnel when necessary," a spokesperson for the defence ministry stated.
