It is not ruled out that Odessa-Brody-Gdansk will reach Lithuania, APA’s Eastern Europe bureau reports. Minister of Agriculture of Lithuania Vitas Navitskas stated that Lithuanian capital will significantly rise in the project, at present Lithuania takes symbolic part in Odessa-Brody-Gdansk pipeline, though:†Yes, we will have our oil pipeline. It will be called either Brodi or Black Sea†said Mr.Navistkas.
Other countries promised to invest millions in the authorized capital of the project, Lithuania will invest 120 000 zloti for exploration:â€Our investment portfolio will reach that of other after shareholders according to the signed documents after investigations will be carried out and business opportunities will be clarified†said the Minister.
Mr.Navitskas underlined that Odessa-Brody-Plotsk-Gdansk will provide alternative oil source to Lithuania and Lithuania will be able to buy oil from Poland. This crude is taken into Lithuania through Primorsk port of Russia at present. Caspian oil is to be cheaper than that of Russia.
“Lithuania was cited as a potential consumer of crude oil in the first analysis. We can use the Gdansk oil both in Majeykay and Klaipedos Nafta oil refineries if cheaper than Primorsk oil. The project does not entail extension of the pipeline. According to the current option, the oil will be transported to Lithuania by tankers. But the oil pipeline is not ruled out to reach Lithuania†added the minister./APA/
