Nicolas Sarkozy wins presidential elections in France

Forecasts by four pollsters showed a hardline former interior minister, leader of Union for Peoples’ Movement Nicolas Sarkozy won around 53.69% of the vote in the second-round ballots of the elections after accounting 50% of the ballots which his rival social democrat Segolene Royal could get only 46.31% of the votes.
The ministry noted they continue to count the votes for Fransua Baruen, but the final results are not supposed to change. Sarkozy’s rival Segolene Royal has confessed her failure in the elections.
Opponents of Sarkozy have started to hold protest actions against him after the elections were over. The protesters in Paris, Marcel, Lion, Strasburg and Lille have demanded to cancel the results of the elections calling Sarkozy a fascist. Over 100 protesters have been arrested. /APA/
