Yushchenko and Yanukovich reach agreement

"Our main agreement is that we have agreed in principle today on holding early elections and on what has to be done to make these elections fair and democratic," Yushchenko told journalists following a meeting with Yanukovych.
Yanukovych confirming the statement by Yushchenko added that all steps will conform to legislation.
A working group should start work on Friday to draw up documents to unblock the election process in two days, Yushchenko said.
"In two days, it should lay all its proposals on the table to open Verkhovna Rada sessions in order to pass resolutions essential for the organization of elections," he said.
President Yushchenko issued decree on dissolving of the parliament on April 2 and then on April 25. The parties in the government coalition led by Yanukovich stood against these decrees and decided to impede the election process. Extraordinary parliamentary elections have been scheduled for June 24. /APA/
