Yanukovych began his report by criticizing Yushchenko government.
“Serious problems occurred in the governmental system of the state after revolution in the country. New Constitution project presented to debate did not reduce the President’s authorities, on the contrary, this Constitution gave new authorities to the President. After the orange revolution Yushchenko holds all power instruments in his hand. Other branches of the government should be empowered. Being Regions Party we are always ready to compromise during crisis. Some accuse us in seizing power, but it is not true”, he said.
Yanukovych stated that though economical problems have already been solved, but political problems are remaining after he was elected Prime Minister of Ukraine.
“We do nit fear to join these elections in coalition, because we will certainly win. But we intend to work and carry out reforms till our tenure expires. My government will make maximum efforts to honor all the obligations before the Council of Europe”, he stressed.
Then PACE members asked questions to Ukrainian Prime Minister. /APA/
