Extraordinary elections will possibly be held in Ukraine irrespective of the decision of the Constitutional Court, Ukrainian Prime Minister Victor Yanukovich said a press conference after meeting with Lithuanian Prime Minister Gediminas Kirkilas, APA reports. He said that early elections can be held in two cases.
“If the Constitutional Court regards the president’s decree legal, government and political powers will implement the decree,†he said.
Yanukovich also said that early elections can also be held if Constitutional Court regards the decree illegal.
“In this case, elections can be held with the consent of all the participants of political process. Time will show what the consent will be based on,†he said. /APA/
