Baku-APA. Turkish foreign minister has condemned recent acts of violence in Syria, APA reports quoting AA.

Ahmet Davutoglu said at a joint press conference with his Norwegian counterpart Jonas Gahr Store, "both the timing and the way of Syrian government forces’ operation in the city of Hama are completely wrong. While we expected the Syrian government to make reforms, we learnt about the operation. It is very wrong to conduct such an operation on the eve of the holy month of Ramadan. Such events give wrongful messages to both Syrian people and the international community.", AA reported.

"We hope that Syria would resolve its problems on its own by carrying out a series of reforms. It is the best option to encourage Syrian government to make more reforms. The second option is to resolve problems under regional dynamism by cooperating with the neighboring countries," he said.

"But if problems are left unsolved and scores of people are killed everyday, no one can remain silent," he added.

Syrian government forces stormed Hama, fourth-largest city in Syria, on Sunday. At least 100 people were killed in the attack.

Davutoglu is currently in Norway to attend the funeral ceremony for Gizem Dogan, who was killed in the shooting in Norway’s Utoya island on July 22.
