Baku-APA. British authorities investigating the deaths of five people at a hospital in northern England say that they’ve charged a 27-year-old nurse with tampering with saline bags used to treat patients, APA reports quoting news.yahoo.com website.
Police and prosecutors allege that Rebecca Leighton endangered the lives of patients at the Stepping Hill Hospital in the town of Stockport by contaminating their bags.
Greater Manchester Police said Friday that she faced six counts of intentionally or recklessly endangering life. The police did not make clear whether each count related to separate patients and in an email exchange said that it wasn’t able to clarify the matter.
The alarm was raised last week after a high number of the hospital’s patients suffered unexplained low blood sugar levels.
