Baku-APA. Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan called Tuesday for an international donor conference to assist Egyptians, APA reports quoting Xinhua News Agency.

"We have underlined in every platform that an international donors’ meeting should be held to eliminate economic problems of Egypt. Turkey is ready to contribute to Egypt’s development, and a bright future in peace and stability," Erdogan told a gathering of his Justice and Development Party (AKP).

Erdogan had a telephone conversation with the U.S. President Barack Obama on Saturday, proposing an international meeting for Egypt.

Erdogan reaffirmed Tuesday that Turkey expected Egypt to ensure constitutional democracy, hold transparent elections and enter a new era as soon as possible.
