New platform to be launched in Chirag field

According to him, the platform will be constructed between the Chirag and Deepwater Guneshli platforms: “The investments in Deepwater Guneshli field during 2005-2007 and current investment in Chirag platform allow prevent the reduction of and stabilize the extraction”.

Birrell noted that Azer-Chirag-Guneshli block is the world-class and BP and its partners are ready to continue investing in it. In the new future, topside module will be installed on the jacket. This will be the 8th platform in Azeri-Chirag-Guneshli fields and first oil will be extracted by the end of 2013.
