Baku. Aynur Aliyeva - APA-Economics. Daughter company of the State Oil Company of Azerbaijan in Turkey SOCAR Turkey Energy intends to be among the first three industrial companies of Turkey by 2018, said the head of the Company Kanan Yavuz, APA reports quoting Turkish press.
“Capital invested in the construction of Petkim and Star oil refinery, including preparation works, exceeded $4 bln. We’ll invest more $6 bln in 2018, including launch of the plants”, he said.
He noted that Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev was informed about the situation of the investments when he visited Aliaga region of Izmir, Turkey.
“We said that we want to be among the first industrial companies of Turkey in 2018. However, he made us to target being first”, he added.
Speaking about the advantages of Petkim on location in Aliaga, K. Yavuz said that construction cost of Star NEZ will make $5.7 bln: “If we would construct the same NEZ in Ceyhan, it would be required $7 bln. Aliaga port has useful infrastructure”.
Yavuz noted that in order to be first, Star NEZ needs one more oil refinery: “It needs more $10 bln. Nearly 50 projects are expected to be implemented”.
He also noted that Star Nez is seeking new strategic partner.
“There are local and foreign investors. We want local investors”, he added.
