Baku to host international oil-gas exhibition

According to APA-Economics, the first exhibition was held in September, 1994, on the eve of “Contract of the Century”.

During these years, 5,600 companies from 70+ countries attended the exhibition.

Head of State Ilham Aliyev is expected to attend the opening ceremony of the exhibition. The VIP guests of the exhibition include Georgian Energy Minister Kakha Kaladze, The UK Prime Minister's Trade Envoy to Azerbaijan Charles Hendry, State Secretary of Sweden Trade Ministry Gunnar Oom, Secretary General of the Energy Charter Secretariat Urban Rusnák, Turkmen Deputy Minister of Oil Gas Industry and Natural Resources Annageldy Mametyazov and other persons.

The exhibition gathers 386 companies from 28 countries. The exhibition will be held the 3 pavilions of the Center, as well as outdoor area. 5 countries such as Germany, China, Russia, Turkey and Great Britain will be represented by own national groups. Compared to last year, the volume of area rose 22%, number of exponents – 25%. Local companies make 30% of total participants. 20 companies sponsor the exhibition.

General sponsor of the exhibition is State Oil Company of Azerbaijan, gold sponsors – BP-Azerbaijan and Statoil.

Traditional conference will be held in Jumeirah Bilgah Beach Hotel for the first time. Main topics of the conference include “Role of Azerbaijan in energy supply and energy safety for Eurasia”, “International cooperation in the field of Growth and Diversification of Extraction” and etc.

Note that more than speakers will male speeches in the conference, which will be attended by 600 representatives. The program of the conference includes speeches of SOCAR President Rovnag Abdullayev, Head of EU delegation to Azerbaijan Roland Kobia, The UK Prime Minister's Trade Envoy to Azerbaijan Charles Hendry, Turkmen Deputy Minister of Oil Gas Industry and Natural Resources Annageldy Mametyazov, the General Director of Europe, America and Caspian Sea Neighboring Countries Department of the Iranian Ministry of Petroleum Hossein Esmaeili Shahmirzadi and Director of the International Centre for Defence Studies in Estonia Matthew Bryza.

Within the exhibition, BP and its Azeri-Chirag-Guneshli (ACG), Baku-Tbilisi-Ceyhan (BTC), Shahdeniz and South Caucasus Pipeline will hold an event under the slogan of “Meet the Buyer”. Nearly 90 companies specialized on engineering-technical works, construction, logistical support, waste accumulation and utilization and etc. will attend this event.
