Alastair Cook: â€œShahdeniz is one of the biggest gas fields of the worldâ€

Baku. Ali Ahmadov – APA-Economics. Shahdeniz gas field is still one of the biggest oil-gas fields of the world, said the BP's Vice-President for Shah Deniz Development Alastair Cook at the international oil-gas conference.

According to him, in the first stage of Shahdeniz, 9 bcm of gas is produced per year: “Annual production within Shahdeniz-2 project will be 16 bcm”.

Informing about difficulties observed regarding exploitation of the field, Cook said that these difficulties include location of the field in the depth of 6,000 meters, high pressure, long-distance transportation of gas and other factors.
