SOCAR pays $165.3 mln-tax to Georgian budget in 2012

Baku – APA-Economics. 2012 was successful for subsidiaries of SOCAR operating in Georgia. Nearly 383,440 tonnes of oil products were imported to Georgia through the enterprises. Of these, 328,435 tonnes or 86% fell to share of Azerbaijani products.

Last year, 8 new filling stations were launched under SOCAR brand. So, the number of stations hit 100. In 2006-12, SOCAR Georgia Petroleum invested $149.7 mln in Georgia. According to the contract signed between Georgian government and SOCAR, 1.394 bcm of natural gas was imported to Georgian market through SOCAR Gas Export-Import Ltd in 2012.

SOCAR Georgia Gas Ltd, which plays an important role in gas supply of Georgia, serves to 176,780 subscribers. The enterprise launched 1,430 km new gas lines in the country in 2012. In general, the length of gas lines launched up to this day is 2,790 km. Besides, last year SOCAR purchased stakes of Itera Georgia OJSC and took the control of the company in all regions of Georgia, except Tbilisi.

In the reporting period, the companies belonging to SOCAR Georgia have transferred 269.515 mln Laris or $ 165.347 mln on all taxation types.

Besides, social projects were also implemented through SOCAR’s Georgian representation. In September, 2012, 7-floor administrative building of Representation was put into operation in Tbilisi. New-designed Tea House was opened in Marneuli, in which Azerbaijanis live compactly.

Heydar Aliyev Park in Rustavi was reconstructed. All repair-construction works in M. F. Akhundov’s house-museum were completed. The project on launch of drinking water in Yormuganli and Badiauri villages of Sagarejo Region is being implemented and will be completed recently. Besides, education fees of 447 youths studying in Georgian high education schools were paid. 205 students received scholarships. 72 families needing medical services and surgery were provided with financial aids. Sponsorship to Georgia Chess Federation and Georgia Football Federation continues.
