Industrial production drops 0.4% in Azerbaijan

Baku. Nijat Mustafayev – APA-Economics. In January-February, 2013, AZN 5.7 bn-products were produced in industrial sector of Azerbaijan, down 0.4% compared to the last year.

State Statistical Committee told APA-Economics that 75.3% of industrial production was in mining field. During the reporting period, food production in processing field rose 2.2%, drinking – 10.1%, tobacco products – 62.3%, the production of weaving industry products – by 0.4%, Polygraphy – 87.9%, oil production – 20.5%, chemical production – 6.1%, pharmaceutical products doubled, rubber and plastic – 13.5%, construction materials – 55.2%,electrical equipments – doubled, production of vehicles 7.3%, other transport facilities – 52.4%, furniture – 3.6 times, machinery and equipment installation and repair – 11.5%.

Production in non-oil sector grew by 3.9%, while production in oil sector dropped 1.4%.

“99.9% of industrial products have been sent to consumers. There were AZN 314.7 mln-finished products in the storages of industrial enterprises and it was AZN 2.5 mln less compared to last month,” said the Committee.
