Tbilisi. Nizami Mammadzadeh - APA. As new gas pipe to be constructed within the framework of Shah Deniz-II project, will pass through Georgia, the project assumes great importance for Tbilisi in improvement of energy supply of the country, Deputy Energy Minister Ilya Eloshvili told APA’s Georgian bureau.

To him, after start of Shah Deniz-II, advantages of Georgia will increase more: ‘It, at the same time, will impact on the volume of gas used in the country and the current tariffs. We have big practice in implementation of such projects together with Azerbaijan. This isn’t a first project. That is why, there will not be any problem between the states. Only thing to-be-done will be signing of necessary documents on agreement. From this viewpoint, realization of projects will be easier and more qualitative’.

Deputy Minister noted the possibility of some novelties in realization of new gas project: ‘For the moment, we take 5% revenue from gas transportation. Certainly, when gas supply increases the tariffs will reduce. And it’s very important’.
