Aliyev noted that up to some years ago, Azerbaijan’s oil transportation to Ukraine was realized successfully. Approximately 2 mln tonnes were sent to Ukrainian oil processing factories, processed and sold in Ukrainian markets. However, as a result of establishment of Customs Union with the participation of Russia, Belarus and Kazakhstan, Russian oil enters the factories with more concessional conditions and sold to Ukraine for lower prices.
During the last visit of Ukrainian energy Minister to Baku, this issue was discussed. Official Kyiv wanted to resume transportation of Azerbaijani oil to Ukraine. Azerbaijani side in turn noted that concessions must be made for transportation of Azeri crude oil to Ukraine to compete in this market. Ukrainian side promised to consider this issue: “If they suggest relevant conditions for oil transport, there will be not occur any problem”, said Natig Aliyev.
