Azerbaijan sees 7% decline in oil transportation via main pipelines

Baku. Nijat Mustafayev – APA-Economics. In January-March, 2013, 10.7 mln tonnes of oil were transported via main pipelines in Azerbaijan, down 7% compared with previous year.

 

State Statistical Committee says 76.1% of transportation was carried out by Baku-Tbilisi-Ceyhan (BTC) and 8.1 mln tonnes of oil were transported via this pipeline, down 9% from previous year. At the same time, 774,700 tonnes of Turkmen oil were transported via BTC through Sangachal terminal, down 19.5% compared wit a year earlier.

 

Along with this, 5.4 bcm of gas was transported via main gas pipelines during the same period, down 8.5% in contrast with January-March, 2012. 17.7% of gas transportation was carried out by Baku-Tbilisi-Erzurum South Caucasus pipeline and 962.5 mcm of gas was transported via this pipeline, down 13% in comparison with a year ago.
