ASAIF holds energy forum in London

Baku – APA-Economics. Azerbaijani Students and Alumni International Forum (ASAIF) held energy forum on the topic of “New dynamics in European energy security: roles of Azerbaijan and Turkey” at the House of Commons of British Parliament in London.

ASAIF says another organizer of the event was Network of Students.

The event was attended by Azerbaijani Ambassador to Great Britain Fakhraddin Gurbanov, Director of SOCAR’s London-based office Rufat Afandiyev and the head of Foreign Policy Analysis Department at Center for Strategic Studies under the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Rovshen Ibrahimov, Turkish ex-foreign minister Yashar Yakish, Turkish consul general to Great Britain Ahmet Demirok, Chairman of Global Resources Corporation Mehmet Ogutcu, British Deputy Eric Joyce, Azerbaijani and Turkish youth studying and graduated in Britain and other foreign citizens representing over 15 different countries.

Delivering keynote speech at the forum, ASAIF Chairman Ramin Hakimov informed about NOS and ASAIF. Thereafter, experts forum’s moderator discussed European energy security and diversification policy, geopolitical processes in the region, importance of role of Azerbaijan as an exporter and Turkey as a transit in Caspian basin and especially European energy supply, foreign policies of these countries on energy export, TANAP’s growth, Azerbaijan’s Karabagh realities and negative impact of Armenian occupations on European energy security and peace, stability in the region.
