Baku. Elnur Huseynguluyev - APA-Economics. Gobustan Test and Training Centre on Alternative Energy will be set in operation in early September, this year.

Deputy Director of the State Agency for Alternative and Renewable Energy Resources Jamil Malikov told APA that at present, project capacity of the polygon is 5.5 mW. Of this, 2.7 mW fall on share of wind power, 1.8 mW – solar panels, 1 mW – biogas and bioenergy: ‘Our main purpose – to supply Gobustan district center with alternative energy and then supply all the region territory with renewable energy’.

This figure is 4 mW on the total district. After installation of the 4th wind turbine, production capacity of the polygon will hit 8 mW, which will let supply the entire Gobustan district with renewable energy’.
