Azerbaijani President attends openings of several plants in Sumgayit Technologies Park

Baku - APA-Economics. Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev has today got acquainted with expansion of polymer production plant in Sumgayit Technologies Park, attended openings of heavy engineering and precision machining centers.

The head of state was informed that being consisted of 17 plants, Sumgayit Technologies Park produces variety of products, including cables, transformers, high voltage equipment, hydro turbines, water pumps, electric motors, pipes, and technical gases. As a result of the opening of this giant, hundreds of new work places have been opened here.

President Aliyev was informed about the tower to be installed by isolated lines of high voltage cables. This project is reazlized only in Azerbaijan among the CIS and Middle East. Undergroudn part of the tower is in 40 km depth. The construciton of it began in 2009 and it will be completed by the end of 2012.

President Ilham Aliyev drove about area of STP and met with the situation after enlargement works. It was noted that, there were only 5 lines in 2009. After enlargement these lines increased to 25. Total area of the factory is 2.8 ha. 400 persons were provided with jobs. The factory can produce 396 polyethylene pipelines, per day.

Thereafter, President attended the opening of machine-building factory. The raw materials are imported from Russia, Turkey and other countries. 900 persons work in the plant. Annual production capacity is 50,000 tons.

Head of state gave relevant tasks and recommended.
