Science Foundation to be established at SOCAR

Baku. Ali Ahmadov â€“ APA-Economics. Today, SOCAR and the National Academy of Sciences (ANAS) signed a memorandum of understanding on â€œEstablishment of Science Foundation at SOCARâ€. AAP reports that the memorandum was signed by the president of SOCAR Rovnag Abdullayev and the president of ANAS Mahmoud Kerimov.

It was noted in the event that the Science Foundation of SOCAR pursuing important goals such as promoting scientific research in the petroleum industry of Azerbaijan, enhancing natural resources, higher efficiency of ongoing studies will provide a basis for entry into the oil and gas science of the country to a new stage in quality and will give impetus to the transformation of oil in human capital, etc.

Science Foundation SOCAR will pay attention to issues such as education of scientific personnel, support their research, implements rewards for the best research on oil and gas industry, project grants, funding for education in youth literacy Postgraduate in foreign countries, etc. Issuance of grants and awards will be conducted by Competition Commission consisting of representatives of SOCAR and ANAS.

Abdullayev and Karimov noted that the new foundation would implement all tasks successfully, at the same time, contribute to reconstruction of material and technical basis of science at the level of modern standards.

Recently established business relations between SOCAR and ANAS were discussed at the event.

Activity of "NeftqazelmitÉ™dqiqatlayihÉ™" Institute, Scientific-Research Institute of Geophysics, Scientific-Research Institute of Chemical Project and several other science-project, design bureaus, laboratories were noted and conducted research works were appreciated at the event.
