ADB power engineering mission arrives in Azerbaijan

Banks says that the mission includes main specialist of ADB on power engineering Tianhua Luo: â€œThe purpose of the visit is to attend the seminar to be held on May 11 in Baku on preparation of Investment Program about development of energy distribution. Representatives of several Azerbaijani state organizations are expected to take part in the seminarâ€.

Remind that, at present, ADB is implementing Power Transmission Enhancement Project. The cost of the project is $240 mln. $160 mln of this sum has been allocated by ADB, $80 mln by Azerenerji. This long-term credit will be spent for construction of distributing line and substation on this line. Consequently, the existing two lines will be substituted. Modernization of infrastructure will give a chance durability of energy supply and decrease of losses observed in distribution of electrical energy.

In general, implementation of project will decrease need for electrical energy of the country, optimization of water electrical resources. This credit will help to provide energy security of country government, support the realization of priority program for improvement and development of energy sector and attract investments to private sectorâ€.
