Turkey and Azerbaijan hold discussions on transaction and transit of natural gas

According to APA citing AzerTAg state agency, Azerbaijani Minister of Industry and Energy Natig Aliyev and Turkey’s Energy Minister Taner Yildiz attended the discussions. Natig Aliyev noted that, the documents to be signed between two countries would define the terms of transportation of Azeri gas to Europe and sale to Turkey. These documents are important for the international companies along with companies of both countries. After completion of works on these documents, the sides will hold signing ceremony.

In turn, Taner Yildiz noted that, 5 issues on transaction and transit of natural gas were discussed at the meeting: â€œWe came to an agreement about transportation of Shahdeniz II natural gasâ€. The works on improvement of transit terms of contract will be continued. Working groups continues the works on this contract which will be continuation of document on transportation of 10 bcm of natural gas to Europe and import of 6 bcm of gas for Turkeyâ€™s domestic need signed last year on Nabucco and other projects. The documents on transit issues are consisted of 130 pages. All of these can be completed in two weeks.
