Baku. Nijat Mustafayev – APA-Economics. Generation capacity growth of Azerbaijan’s energy system made over 2 100 MVt, during past 7 years, said Azerenergy President Etibar Pirverdiyev.
According to him, reconstruction works in Azerbaijan Heat Power Station have been finished in 1st, 2nd,3rd, 4th, 5th and 8th energy blocks. The 6th and 7th are about to finish: “After these works, the station’s capacity will increase from 2000 MVt to 2 600 MVtâ€.
He noted that, Mingechevir WPS was being reconstructed. The preparatory works for reconstruction in Varvara WPS are underway. After these, the stations will get 90 MVt additional generation capacities.
He also noted that, the works in Cenub PS were also underway. After the launch of station, 700 000 tons of fuel will be saved per year.
Besides, the construction works in Fuzuli WPS will be completed in the mid f 2011.
Tovuz WPS is planned to construct over the Kur River.
