Oil transportation via main pipelines increases by 5% in January-February

Baku. Nijat Mustafayev – APA-Economics. Azerbaijan has transported 8 mln tons of oil via main pipelines in January-February, 2011, up 5.2% compared to a year ago.

State Statistical Committee says that, 76.2% of transportation was implemented via Baku-Tbilisi-Ceyhan pipeline. 6.1 mln tons of oil was transported via this pipeline during January-February, up 7% from January-February, 2010. Besides, 408.2 thousand tons of Turkmen oil was transported via BTC pipeline through Sangachal terminal.

At the same time, 3.5 bcm of gas was transported via main gas pipeline, during the same period, up 6.7% from yera earlier. 21.5% of this was implemented via Baku-Tbilisi-Erzurum that it was accounted as 760.4 mcm during January-February, 2011, down 8.8% from year ago.
