Azerbaijan to establish Independent Regulatory Agency in energy sphere

Baku. Ali Ahmedov â€“ APA-Economics. The preparation for initial discussions on establishment of Independent Regulatory Agency in energy sphere has been started in Azerbaijan. The Ministry of Industry and Energy has announced tender about purchase of consulting services on preparation of technical and economic feasibility of establishment of Independent Regulatory Agency in energy sphere.

According to Ministry, these works are conducted within the program on support to reforms in energy sphere. European Union will allocate 13 mln Euros to the program.

Winner of tender will draft proposals related to several issues, investigating the energy legislation of Azerbaijan. One of these is the functioning method of organization to be establishment. Thus, these organizations in Europe, regulate the energy transport, use of it, prices and other. These functions in Azerbaijan concern to separate organizations.

The second issue is that, the organization will be independent or under the Development Agency of Alternative or Renewable Energy types.
