Georgia PM: â€œAzerbaijan is our most important strategic partnerâ€

Tbilisi. Nizami Mammadzadeh â€“ APA. Today, Georgian PM Nika Gilauri has held a press conference on the socio-economic results of 2011. PM, firstly, congratulated the journalists on New Year.

He noted that, economic growth in Georgia made 6% this year. At the same time, a development in Energy, tourism and banking spheres was observed, 5 hydroelectric power stations were constructed, this year.

PM stated that, corruption has been decreased to the lowest level: â€œNew Tax Code will come into force from January 1, 2011 and this will support the development of free business. I believe that, 2011 will be development year for Georgiaâ€.

Azerbaijan plays an important role in the economy of Georgia: â€œAzerbaijan is our most important partner and provider of energy safety in Georgia. SOCAR Georgia is one of the largest tax payers of Georgia. Azerbaijani company have a great share in Georgian economyâ€.

He also noted that, Russia-Armenia pipeline was Georgiaâ€™s property: â€œThatâ€™s why Russia-Armenia gas pipeline will be never privatizedâ€.
