American expert: â€œAzerbaijan plays an important role in Southern Corridor projectâ€

According to him Azerbaijan has an great importance as a transit country and producer of energy carriers: â€œBaku-Supsa, Baku-Tbilisi-Ceyhan and Southern Caucasus pipelines play important roles not only for Azerbaijan but for whole region.â€

Expert noted that US policy in Caspian region was sufficiently regular and durable: â€œChanging of presidential administration in USA does not have impact on this policy. USA supports increasing of routes for transportation of energy carriers.â€

He thinks that large-scale projects get out of the agenda by reason of economic crisis and short-term projects are on the agenda. The conditions of the market have already been changed compared with 2008. USA offered its assist for demarcation of Caspian Sea. The non-controversial areas are more attractive for investment.
