Oil transportation decreases, gas transportation rises via mail pipelines in Azerbaijan

Baku. Nijat Mustafayev â€“ APA-Economics. Azerbaijan transported 33 mln tons of oil via main pipeline during January-August, 2010, down 2.1% compared with a year ago.

State Statistical Committee says that 76.6% of this was implemented via Baku-Tbilisi-Ceyhan (BTC) oil pipeline and 25.3 mln tons of oil was transported via this pipeline during the past months, down 0.8% compared with January-August, 2009. BTC has transported 460.2 thousand Turkmenistan oil since July, 2010.

At the same time, 11.8 bcm of gas was transported via main gas pipelines during the same period, down 7.6% from year ago. Of this, 30.6% was transported via Baku-Tbilisi-Erzurum South Caucasus pipeline and this pipeline transported 3.6 bcm of gas as a year ago.
