RWE offers to merge Greece-Italy and Nabucco gas pipeline

According to Head of Business Development at RWE Supply & Trading Jeremy Ellis Nabucco project is more suitable than other gas supply projects in Europe. Thus, Nabucco is supported by European Union and there is and intergovernmental contract for 50 years. “IGI pipeline can be merged with Nabucco. At the result, we could save 25% in transit tariffs.”

He also noted that 25 bln euros has to be granted execution of 4 pipelines – South Stream, Nabucco, TAP White Stream and ITGI.

Note that, the role of Caspian Sea in the achievement of long-term energy safety, increasing of production to meet the world’s need for energy, aiming of production to export, infrastructure, logistics, transportation, cooperation opportunities of international and national oil-gas companies and other issues were discussed at the conference.

The representatives of Azerbaijani Ministry of Industry and Energy, SOCAR, Georgian Energy Minister Alexander Khetaguri, Nabucco Gas Pipeline International GmbH. President Reinhard Mitschek, Trans Adriatic Pipeline TAP MAnaging Director Kjetil Tungland, Senior Advisor to the CEO, KazMunaiGas Ross Stobie and officials of other international companies and financial institutions attended the conference.
