Representative of CE Office in Azerbaijan: YAP, Motherland and Social Prosperity Parties were also invited to meeting on Election Code

He stated that they do not know why the above-said parties did not attend the debates. He did not want to give explanation about it.
Head of press service of YAP Huseyn Pashayev stated that they did not receive any written or oral invitation.
â€œIf Council of Europe has sent such invitation it should say when and whom he sent it. We saw information about this meeting in press. We were interested in participating in that meeting. But we were not invited. I contacted with CE Office in Baku due to the matter. They stated that International Foundation for Election Systems (IFES) was the organizer of the event and they had to invite YAP to that eventâ€ he said.
IFES director for Azerbaijan Den Blessington told the APA, they phoned and invited YAP and YAP said that they will participate in the meeting.
â€œIf they did not attend the meeting, it is not a serious problem,â€ he said.
Representatives of Musavat, Democrat, Popular Front, Liberal, Democratic Reforms, Open Society, Justice, Umid, Great establishment, Citizen and Development Parties participated in the meeting organized in CE Office in Azerbaijan on October 5. /APA/
