Ogtay Asadov meets with heads of Ago group and Venice Commission

Azerbaijanâ€™s cooperation with CE, several bodies of the organization, as well as â€œAgoâ€ group has been debated in the meeting. He stated that head of â€œAgoâ€ group highly appreciated juridical reforms carried out in Azerbaijan.
â€œOgtay Asadov also gave information about the establishment of the new courts. 2008 presidential elections and preparations to these elections were also discussed in the meeting,â€ he said.
Nasirov said that measures have been taken, reforms have been carried out for stopping monitoring carried out by Ago group.
â€œCE and several bodies of the organization highly appreciate reforms carried out in Azerbaijan, fulfillment of CE commitments. And it will probably cause reduction of monitoringâ€ he said.
Nasirov saying that Secretary of CE Venice Commission Giovanni Buquicchio and head of Parliamentâ€™s Office participated in the meeting stated that the sides touched on the cooperation between Azerbaijan and Commission.
â€œYou know that negotiations are carried out on Election Code at present. Draft law is about to be prepared and it will probably be submitted to Parliament for assertion,â€ he said. /APA/
