“On the other hand US, EU, England, Russia and other big countries think that Kosovo can not be a precedent for the solution to any other conflict. Armenia has occupied the territory of neighboring country. No country will accept this fact. We can say the same things regarding Kosovo conflict. Because world community will not let Kosovo issue be a precedent”
Elmar Mammadyarov also commented on frozen conflicts in GUAM regions included to the agenda of 62nd session of UN General Assembly.
“We have discussed this issue along with Foreign Ministers of GUAM countries. We decided that our ambassadors to UN will continue debates with other countries. We are carrying out consultations officially and unofficially. We want to win more support for these draft resolutions. If we feel that we are supported enough, we will bring this issue for debate. Azerbaijan is interested in informing 192 UN countries about frozen conflicts. But every step has its own time. Ukraine, Moldova, Georgia and Azerbaijan’s position on frozen conflicts are decisive,” he said.
Elmar Mammadyarov stated that destruction of historical monuments belonging to our country, arsons in occupied regions and other issues will be reflected in the draft resolution covering situation in Azerbaijani occupied regions.
“You know, UN Human Rights Council in Geneva has adopted a resolution on destructed historical monuments in Armenian-occupied Azerbaijani territories. We will continue the same debates in UN as a continuation of this work. We are sure that we will achieve the result we want,” he said. /APA/
