Abdulla Gul: â€œConflicts in Northern Caucasus have to be settled within the framework of territorial integrity and sovereignty of Azerbaijan and Georgiaâ€

He made sure that open discussions are underway in Turkey to prepare a new constitution. Mr. Gul stressed the importance of combating against any discrimination and found it wrong to link terror to any religion or culture: â€œThe most separative lines are not between religions and cultures but democratic and authoritative regimesâ€. A. Gul touching the Cyprus issue said that they back political efforts towards the islandâ€™s reunification.
A.Gul found Northern Caucasus one of the critic regions of the world because of unsolved conflicts: â€œFrozen conflictsâ€ continue to make threat to the piece and stability in the region. These problems weaken hopes of future generations for welfare. The solution of the conflicts in Northern Caucasus is priority both for the regional and other countries. The conflicts should be solved within the framework of territorial integrity and sovereignty of Azerbaijan and Georgiaâ€. A. Gul made his position clear on Kosovo and Iraq conflicts as well.
