Baku hosts the meeting of the BSEC Parliamentary Assembly commission - <font color=#FF0000>UPDATED</font>

First of all, the attendees visited the grave of Azerbaijanâ€™s former president Heydar Aliyev in the Alley of Honours. MP Asef Hajiyev, vise-president of BSEC Parliamentary Assembly told reporters that the event is aimed to improve the living standards of the people in the region. Armenia is represented in the meeting by Stepan Safaryan.
Mr.Hajiyev chaired the meeting in Azerbaijani Parliament.
Mr.Hajiyev gave information about reforms carried out in cultural, social and scientific spheres in Azerbaijan.
Valeh Alesgerov, vice speaker of Azerbaijani Parliament, stressed that Azerbaijan is a tolerant country.
â€œThere are many different nations and different religions in Azerbaijan today. The conflict in our republic doesnâ€™t influence this tolerance,â€ he said.
The member of Azerbaijani delegation Jale Aliyeva made a keynote speech in the meeting. Ms.Aliyeva spoke about the social measures carried out in the Black Sea countries. She mentioned the measures taken for improving social standards of people.
Todayâ€™s meeting is to pass a decision on discussion of Ms.Aliyevaâ€™s report in the BSEC General Assembly to be held in Tbilisi on November 18./APA/
