Azerbaijan and Croatia sign 5 documents

The parties signed agreement between Azerbaijani Commerce and Industry Chamber and Croatian Chamber of Economy, agreement on cooperation between Azerbaijani Foreign Ministry’s Diplomatic Academy and Diplomatic Academy at Croatian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and European Integration, memorandum between Azerbaijani Economic Development Ministry and Croatian Ministry of Economy, Labor and Entrepreneurship and agreement on promotion and mutual protection of investments between Azerbaijani and Croatian governments.
Following this, Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev and Croatian President Stepan Mesic signed a joint declaration.
Azerbaijani and Croatian presidents held a press conference after the signing ceremony. Recalling his visit to Croatia two years ago, Ilham Aliyev said regional and international issues were debated and economic issues of mutual concern were touched upon during the meetings.
“Most of the economic issues will be debated at the business forum tomorrow,” the president said.
Stepan Mesic said this is his first visit to Azerbaijan and underlined the necessity of expanding economic relations between the two countries. He stated that Croatia recognizes Azerbaijan’s territorial integrity and supports settlement of the Nagorno Karabakh conflict basing on international law norms and principles.
Stepan Mesic’s visit to Azerbaijan will be over tomorrow.
Opening of Croatian consulate in Baku and Azerbaijani embassy in Croatia will be debated during the president’s visit.
Business forum of Azerbaijani and Croatian businessmen will be held tomorrow.
The delegation of Croatian businessmen arrived in Baku yesterday. /APA/
