Gultakin Hajiyeva: “PACE fall session will discuss a number of issues of great importance for Azerbaijan”

Mrs. Hajiyeva briefed the session’s priorities for Azerbaijan adding that session will not discuss the issue directly concerning Azerbaijan: “The fact that speaker of Azerbaijani Parliament Oktay Asadov is invited to the PACE and will make a speech at the session makes the session very interesting for Azerbaijan. I assume that it a very notable event for Azerbaijan and testifies to the development of Azerbaijani-CE relations, Azerbaijan’s strong position at the PACE.
Gultakin Hajiyeva will be heard with her report dedicated to the activity of International Migration Organization on the first day of the session. Rapporter said that this fact also indicates the consolidation of Azerbaijan’s position at the PACE. Mrs. Hajiyeva added that the session will also focus on economic growth and social protection what could be interesting for Azerbaijan. She added that talks concerning Moldova’s commitments are also of great importance for Azerbaijan: “Moldova is Azerbaijan’s strategic partner and closely cooperates with us within the framework of the GUAM. Sure will back Moldova’s stance as it steps towards the democracy and successes in implementing democratic reforms”. Mrs. Hajiyeva said that no talks are expected concerning Azerbaijan at PACE Monitoring Committee: “Because such talks took place at PACE Monitoring Committee held in Paris on September12. This time there will an exchange of information regarding the preparation for the hearings to be held in Berlin on lingering conflicts”. She reminded that the hearings on lingering conflicts will take place on November 5 -6 in Berlin./APA/
