Noting that border between Azerbaijan and Russia is 390km, the committee chief said 90-95 percent of this border has been coordinated.
He said that Styk upland situated on border with Russia, territory called Sugovshagi and area in Khachmaz region belonging to forest resources are about to be coordinated.
Garib Mammadov said that the border with Georgia is 490km and underlined that 300km of it has been coordinated.
The committee chief said experts are working on delimitation of the borders with Russia and Georgia.
Garib Mammadov considers the delay of the process normal.
“As we were a unique state during Soviet period, there are problems in determining the borders now. New problems appear as the investigation is carried out. For example, a fact arises that 50-60m area in Russia belonged to Azerbaijan, or vice versa. We use extra maps to define it. This map has been made by Russians, Armenians and Georgians, there are no Azerbaijanis among them. But despite this, we are satisfied with the map and accept with great pleasure, as it favors us,” he said. /APA/
